Doug was admitted to practice in 1973 after serving articles of clerkship at the firm of Griffin Hume. In 1972 Doug was employed as a lawyer at one of Adelaide’s most prestigious law firms. He became a partner in 1976 and during the 1980s and 90s was charged with the responsibility for some of the largest commercial cases fought before South Australian Courts.
In 1997 Doug started his own firm Montgomery & Co and 10 years later joined RSA LAW.
Throughout his career Doug has acted for national and international insurers, large government and private corporations as well as private companies and individuals. His principal areas of practice are commercial and civil litigation, contract and property disputes, negligence and trade practices litigation. He also practices in commercial law.
